1. Locate already published WebQuests via search engines or WebQuest collections. 2. Determine which ones are appropriate for your grade level, your curriculum, and your students. 3. Bookmark those sites and match them with your
scheduled units throughout the year. 4. Print out hardcopies of the WebQuests you will use and make notes about changes you will announce to students ... this might include adding activities, deleting activities, omitting some of the websites, and making adjustments for special learners in your classroom. 5. Make notes about how you will enhance the WebQuests: additional print materials, videos, guest speakers, field trips, etc. 6. Make lists of content areas and subject matter you would like to enhance with WebQuests and continue to search for those throughout the year. 7. Locate on-line databases and reference materials that correlate with your curriculum. You will need those to develop your own WebQuests. 8. Develop your own WebQuests that are custom designed for your classroom and your students. Check this site to pre-plan your quest: http://www.pampetty.com/webquests/creating.htm Note: If you are not presently comfortable with web design, you might begin with hardcopies of a WebQuest you design in Word or Word Perfect. Students would follow the WebQuest keying in the appropriate URL's as they need to visit the sites.
