WebQuests do require some classroom
management ... systems must be in place for selecting group members,
etc.... questions must be answered:
- How many students will be in each group?
- Do all students do all tasks or do groups select
a task to do and then share with other groups?
- How much of the instructional day can be spent
working on WebQuests?
- How do I train students to use time effectively
when working in group projects?
- How will presentations be handled? Our
class only? Invite other classes? Invite outside
guests? Offer to present at community meetings?
- How many WebQuests the first year?
- What type of "clipboard" system can I
make to move students from one place to another?
- What considerations should be made for the age
and ability levels of my students?
- Will I make arrangements for a home/school
connection for the WebQuests?
- Will I need parent volunteers to help with
reading/writing, management?
- How will I communicate to students when I want
them to do something differently than the way the WebQuest
explains it?
- Have I made arrangements for a SUPPORT GROUP of
my peers?
- Does administration at my school understand the
function of WebQuests as teaching and learning tools?
