Go to:  http://www.homestead.com and
SIGN UP for free web space.

Note:  Write down your URL,
your username and your
password.

Step 2:  Log in using your
 username and password.

Step 3:  To get started designing or
importing your web pages, click GO
inside the BUILD WEB SITES
(Manage My Sites).  You can also
select "Start a New Site."

Note:  After you have already designed
your sites, you go in here to EDIT the
sites.

Step 4:  Click on PAGES
and FILES MANGER.
Step 5:  All of your HTML files (your web pages) are listed in a block at the top of this page.  All the tools are listed there
so that you can manage your pages - these
tools allow you to EDIT, VIEW, DELETE,
ADD PROPERTIES, or REFRESH your
pages.  You can also start a NEW page from here (see green circle).

Step 6:  This is the BOTTOM of that
same screen.  It lists all the graphic
files (pictures, clipart) that you have
imported (taken from your "C" or "A" drive).  All of your .jpg and .gif files will be listed here.
Step 7:  To design a page for the FIRST time:
A.  After you have clicked on "new page" on the
previous screen, a pop-up screen will appear.  First,
you have to select the "type" page you want - they are
referring to the layout of the page.  There are several
options listed there - choose one you like. (red arrow)

B.  You can then either select for Homestead to "build"
the site for you by asking you questions (blue) OR you
can start with a blank page and design it yourself (green
arrow).

C.  If you select for Homestead to build the site for you,
simply answer the questions on the page and enter your
own text, graphics, photos, etc.

D.  If you want to design the page yourself, make the
choices that Homestead will prompt you for.  You can
select your own background, upload files from your
computer, add graphics, etc.  The tool bar across the
top of the page gives you lots of options.

E.  You can add any of the ELEMENTS (address book,
counters, search engines, etc) regardless of whether you
design the site or if Homestead does it for you.
