FIGURE 1.1 Shared Beliefs of Influential and Highly Effective Teachers about Teaching

The purpose of this exercise is for you to do some self-examination and self-reflection of your own effectiveness as a teacher.  The instructions for the PAPER you need to write are included below.  Start with the response chart - then write your paper.  You do not submit the rubric, but do submit the paper as directed below. 

1.   Please print this form and fill it in based on what you know about yourself as an effective teacher.

2.  Select three of your greatest strengths and write one paragraph on each describing what you do that signifies the quality as a strength you possess.  Use action verbs - what is it you DO that is representative of the strength?

3.  Select one or your areas of weaknesses and write one paragraph describing why you feel you need growth in that area.  Give examples of why this is an area of frustration or weakness. 

4.  Add one paragraph as a conclusion summarizing your overall beliefs about your effectiveness as a teacher. 

5.  This paper should not be more than 2.5 pages long, should be double-spaced, 1 inch margins, in a 12 pt font.  Paper must be submitted in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format. 

6.  See calendar for due date for this task. 

7.  Heads up:  Do not submit papers in this course until they have been properly proofread, edited, corrected, proofread, and are without grammar errors.
