My background includes literacy education, elementary education, information sciences, child and family studies, and holistic teaching and learning.  I have seven years of experience as a public school teacher and received my doctorate from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  This is my fifth year as an Assistant Professor at Western Kentucky University and I am very impressed with the University, the students, and my colleagues here.  

     I have been designing websites for a little over six years and have about 2,200 web pages on-line at present; many of them can be accessed through my personal homepage:  http://www.pampetty.com.  I value the role of technology in education and in our society.  I look forward to this course because it combines two passions of mine, literacy and technology.  My goal is that all students in this course be successful and that you find taking this course to be a rewarding experience.
